That's dirt cheap

Maybe not, considering that the car itself costs probably $1500, and the engine costs $3000. That's nearly $9000 you're spending for misc. parts, labor, and a bodykit.
Then again, given the nature of the build it looks like it might be totally worth it.

wtf why is there an S8 engine in that

I've seen a few of the posts on the building of this car. Seems well done, but a bit crazy, in my opinion. Plus, that engine is the least serviceable engine in the world now.

Why isn't there an S8 engine in all MR2s?

$3000 engine
$1000 transmission (?)
$800 brakes
$900 coilovers
$1100 wheels
$300 cage
$7100 in parts right there, plus wing, flares, more mods.
I think it's worth it considering the amount of labor, wiring, compatibility issues, etc.

Yeah, I didn't click through to the ad and realize how much other parts are on it. Looks pretty sweet though, I've always had a dream of a high-powered Mk1, with an SR20DET or Turbo K20.
